  1. "Enter the mid-1990s and the advent of the multiplexer - a unit that allows recording on up to 16 cameras simultaneously, making it possible to cover the entire facility with a single system and features such as time-lapse and motion-only recording. It also reduced the number of tapes needed to provide a historical record of facility monitoring."

This is really good and a great way to keep crime out of stores. We have something like this where I work and since the video cameras are always recording its very easy to look at a specific day and time incase something was stolen or somebody got hurt and we have to view what happened. Video survailance has advanced a whole lot and for great reasons.

  2. It's a shame to say, but a surveillance system has almost become a necessity for business rather than a luxury.

  3. Reading this article kind of reminded me of a book by George Orwell called 1984. Kind of spooky that surveillance technology has almost evolved into the big brother is watching area. I guess we are safe as long as we keep them out of our houses. However let me leave you with a freighting thought web cam surveillance. Don’t leave your lens cover off when you are not using it.
